Pabau provides practice-management and patient-communication software to healthcare and wellness practices (“the Practice”). This SMS Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you send and receive text messages (SMS/MMS) exchanged with a Practice through the Pabau platform. It supplements the Pabau Privacy Policy and the Practice’s own privacy notice.
Information we collect for text messaging
When you take part in a Practice’s text-messaging programme, the following information is processed on the Practice’s behalf:
- Your name and mobile phone number;
- Your appointment details (such as dates, times, and the service booked);
- Your text-messaging opt-in consent record (when, where, and how you provided your mobile number); and
- The content of messages you exchange with the Practice.
How this information is used
This information is used solely to operate the Practice’s patient-messaging programme: sending appointment confirmations and reminders, aftercare and pre-care instructions, follow-ups relating to your care, and replies to enquiries you send to the Practice. Message frequency varies depending on your appointments and interactions with the Practice.
No sharing of mobile information for marketing
No mobile information will be shared with, or sold to, third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Mobile information is shared only with service providers acting on our behalf (such as telecommunications carriers and our SMS delivery provider) and only to the extent strictly necessary to deliver the messages described above.
Consent, opt-out, and help
- You consent to receive text messages from the Practice when you provide your mobile phone number — for example when booking online, over the phone, or in person.
- Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile carrier plan.
- You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a single confirmation message, after which no further texts will be sent to you.
- Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact your Practice directly.
Opting out of text messages does not affect other ways the Practice may contact you about your care.
Security and retention
Messaging data is stored securely and retained in line with the Practice’s record-keeping obligations and the Pabau Privacy Policy.
