Spell out what the patient is consenting to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Urine drug screens, random or scheduled, at the provider&rsquo;s discretion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PDMP queries before each refill.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pill counts, where the patient brings the bottle in to be checked.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pharmacy contact to confirm fill dates and quantities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Counseling time spent walking a patient through their medication plan may be billable under <a href=\"https:\/\/pabau.com\/procedure-codes\/hcpcs-code-h0034\/\">H0034<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-consequences-of-non-compliance\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Consequences of non-compliance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the enforcement clause. Name the violations that end the agreement and stop the prescription:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A urine screen positive for a non-prescribed substance, or negative for the prescribed one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collecting controlled substances from another provider without disclosure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Selling, sharing, or otherwise diverting the medication.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Forging or altering a prescription.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Missing scheduled appointments without reasonable notice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refusing a urine screen or a pill count.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Failing to keep the medication secure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Termination is rarely the whole answer. Some states require a tapering plan rather than an abrupt stop, and the Americans with Disabilities Act may apply too. Record the signature date in the note as well as the code.
